Playing Games, Another Kind of Obession
Actually, obession is a very elegant word, seriousness, persistence, contests, into a dead end, and it is called obsessive-compulsive disorder from the point of pathological behavior. Obession is an attitude towards working and the philosophy of doing things for a man. From this point, obession has nothing wrong. In fact, obession is a good quality, not everyong has, but everything has its own scope of application. In some occasions and for doing some things, obession is seriousness and persistence, but for some other occasions, it becomes a morbid state. Well, why I use such a word to describe my game, or our game-playing? I think everyone would have a special feeling about a certain kind of thing. This is a complex, but also a kind of obession. It is also like that in the games. Some days ago, I went to play WoW, and followed by a mission to ZAM. A knight with gorgeous equipment required a person to increase blood to the last. Perhaps this is a kind of obession. Think about myself, although I have been far away from the big track of playing games, when I got some new equipment, I still chose those so-called spirit and magic and my thought is still stay on increasing blood a long time ago. Sometimes I began to miss, miss those bygones. It seems a kind of persistent. Whether it is the persistent for equipment, or the obession for technology, sometimes I have been dedicated to almost harsh, just like tracking a bit of my injury and that little bit of improvement at that time. Seems to that I began to understand this particular pursuit. Obession may not be entirely bad thing. Take into deep thinking, suddenly feel that obession may be the best evdences to prove one person¡¯s clear life, because he/she still have passion or cherish that cannot put down to something. When any thing can no longer arouse a person¡¯s interest in the game, it can be said that this game is no longer intersting. Human beings are greedy and stuborn animals, wander in the landscape, desperately going to catch on something. The most fearful thing for them might be lose something, and the most reluctant things to do might be abandonment. This probably can be interpreted as a kind of obsession or a complex. Different people would have obession for different things.

My Experience of Playing WoW
1.Kill the injuried monster first. When humans are facing enimies much more than them, they will go to catch up with the most ruthless one. This is a mistake. The right way is to kill the injuried one that try to escape, because he will return in 15 seconds and probably bring more enimies. Only after he is dead, you can focus on to fight the others. In our real life, there may not be Druids or Charlemagne, but full of ¡°monsters¡±. They maybe change into term report, daily chores, mysterious car problems, and exist around you. At any time, there must be one ¡°monster¡± become larger and larger, large than any other things. Obviously, you need to break it through. However, before doing it, take a look at other ¡°monsters¡±, and check out that are there some works which can complete in just several more minutes. If you do not complete them now, they may continuously disturb you and even come back. This theory of ¡°injuried monster¡± makes me to reply every call and every e-mail recived in 24 hours. When the car warning light lighted, it must be repaired immediately. I found that no matter when I am thinking ¡°I need to remember¡¡¡±, I know I will forget in the next few minutes. In fact, all I need is not to remember, but to do, to complete it. 2.¡°Grinding¡± is a part of game. Apply a term of the ¡°World of Warcraft¡±, ¡°Grinding¡± (staying at the same place and fighting against the same type of monster) is a way to kill a lot of monsters in an easy way, one by one to gain booty and experience points. This process has no adventure and no real challenge. It doesn¡¯t need to think more about it, and it is a little boring, but usually, it is the fastest way to upgrade. In our daily life, there are also many chores that don¡¯t need to think more, but those two things have a big different, that is, ¡°Grinding¡± has an ultimate goal. The task may be boring, but it has a clear goal, just like you doing something for gaining another thing. You copy manuscripts in a print room to get an assistant¡¯s job. You proofread the manuscript 7 times is trying to give it to your friend working for a producer. You have to do those things for achieving your goal. 3.¡°Grinding¡± is not all for playing games. People always confused with such things: I am doing this thing, but why I have to do it? However, what you need to remember is you don¡¯t have to spend 15 dollars every month and use the same way to kill some deers or rabbits which would not counter when they are attacked. ¡°Grinding¡± is a way to achieve a goal, but the goal of playing games is not just those, and it is for entertainment. So once you have upgraded (or you have enough deerskins to make an armor), stop ¡°Grinding¡±, and begin you new journey. 4.Leave things you do not need to the novice. When you begin to play this game, you have nothing except your weapons and armors. Gradually, every ring you get could make you exciting, and your armor would also become more and more luxurious. But with your upgrading, some equipments become useless for you. If you collect and sell them, that would not worth the candle. So, go back to the region for novice, find the one who just join the game and give the equipments you don¡¯t need to him. It may cost you about 2 minutes, but it could give the novice a big chance. 5.Make your goal clear. The refreshing place of ¡°World of Warcraft¡± is that it has an open ending. If you like, you could spend a lot of time to change Druid into bear. In order to provide a sense of self-cultivation, this game is distributed to a variety of tasks. Those tasks uaually require many steps to complete, including collecting items, killing monsters, and delivering supplies. While the inner system of the game will feedback your efforts, most of the time, your efforts (to find a better protective material) may come to only an intangible sense of failure. The trick is to identify these non-gaming tasks set, and put them into the following specific steps: Browse the auction objects to compare the prices; Choose the shield you want; Sell the linen you do not need to gain cash; Offer a price. For any cases above, you may encounter 10 false tasks. Unless you have completely controled over and identified them, or you might fall into the occasions that curse the useless shield and constantly run around everywhere. People who advocates ¡°time management¡± would call the task of World of Warcraft as ¡°project¡±, and every goal is set for the ¡°next action¡±. This is funny, but you have to know in life most of the work is the component of small operations serve your target. You¡¯re not writing the script, just write scenes in the drama. No matter what is the ¡°project¡±, if you do not begin, you will not complete, and if you do not arrange steps, you will never begin. 6.Costs of storage are expensive. Maybe the designers thought that the teenages would be the main players of World of Warcraft, so the game does not allow to lose anything on the ground. If you do not pick up the lost hammer, it will disappear for ever, so players know the importance of storage, belts, bags, parcels, breastplate, all have to carry. Unfortunately, there will not have enough space to install those things. The more you store, the more you cost, so you have to remember the cost of bring things. If you will not use that bow, you can sell it and gain coins, because the coins are not accounted for parcel room. 7.Excessive thinking will lose fun. Remember, this game is to have fun. Yes, you can spend hours in the forum, find the ¡°talent tree¡± you want,, or you can exert your intelligence, opening up new territory, and killing more monsters. However, too much plan will only make the game more like a job, thus losing the fun.
